Fort Bend Care Center (Care Center) is pleased to announce that the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation has approved a $500,000 challenge grant to support the construction of the new facility in Missouri City, Texas.
This generous award propels The Care Center to 87% of its $5.6 million capital campaign goal to build a 14,000 square-foot center that will double its capacity to serve the community. The new facility will include early childhood education and adult learning classrooms, as well as flexible program space to meet the growing needs in the area. These critical educational programs combine with food and healthcare access to support local families to improve their lives through an array of services provided by The Care Center and its partners.
Founded in 1948, the Mabee Foundation has awarded over $1.6 billion in grants, funding capital expenditures and the purchase of major medical equipment in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas.
To secure the $500,000 donation from the Mabee Foundation, the Care Center must raise the remaining $738,500 by October 14, 2026.
